Welcome to the official website of Okemesi/Ido-Ile Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the digital gateway to our administration, services, and community.
Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA is one of the Local Council Development Areas established by the Government of Ekiti State to strengthen grassroots governance, improve public service delivery, and accelerate sustainable development. The LCDA was carved out of the former Ekiti West Local Government Area, Aramoko-Ekiti, and has its administrative headquarters in Okemesi-Ekiti, popularly known as the Land of the Brave.
The LCDA was created by the administration of Dr. John Kayode Fayemi in July 2021 alongside eighteen (18) other Local Council Development Areas and two (2) Area Offices following the enactment and signing into law of the Local Council Development Area Creation Law on 6 August 2021.
Official operations commenced on 13 September 2021, when the Council was formally inaugurated with the deployment of career officers to all statutory departments. The pioneer Head of Local Government Administration was Mr. Ayowole Omoniyi, who supervised the early administrative foundation of the Council. Subsequently, in January 2022, the first democratically elected Executive Chairman, Hon. Ajibade Sunday Owolabi assumed office to provide political leadership for the LCDA.
Today, Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA remains committed to responsive governance, transparency, accountability, and inclusive development. The Council works to improve the welfare of residents through effective implementation of government policies, infrastructural development, environmental management, agricultural support, community empowerment, and efficient public administration.
The LCDA comprises two historic towns with their surrounding villages. The LCDA recognizes the vital role of traditional institutions in preserving cultural heritage, promoting peace, and supporting community development.

The governance structure of the LCDA consists of two major arms.
The political leadership is headed by the Executive Chairman and supported by the Vice Chairman, Secretary to the LCDA, Supervisors, and Special Advisers. Together, they constitute the Executive Council and participate in the Finance and General Purposes Committee responsible for policy formulation, development planning, and oversight.
The administrative arm is headed by the Head of Local Government Administration (HLA), who oversees the day-to-day management of the Council and reports directly to the Executive Chairman.
The HLA is supported by Directors across various service and operational units to ensure efficient implementation of government policies and programmes.
These departments work collaboratively to provide efficient public services, implement government projects, and improve the quality of life across all communities within the LCDA.
